Dario Picozzi

I am an EPSRC Postdoctoral Prize Fellow in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at University College London (UCL). Previously, I held an EPSRC Research Fellowship at the London Centre for Nanotechnology. My work sits at the intersection of geometry, physics and information. It spans quantum computing, where I have worked on quantum algorithms, quantum circuits and symmetry-adapted encodings to simulate physical processes, for instance molecular electronic structure and electron–molecule scattering; the information geometry of machine learning; and theoretical physics, including quantum gravity, holography and foundational questions.

Outside academia, I am co-founder and managing director of Tanuki, an AI-powered computational simulation platform for science and engineering. Through Tanuki, we contribute the simulation of sea-ice mechanics to Re-thickening Arctic Sea Ice (RASI), an ARIA-funded, University of Cambridge-led programme researching whether Arctic sea ice can be re-thickened to slow its loss.
